From 2013 – In the town of Nootdorp, Pijnacker-Nootdorp officially, the waters in one canal turned bright, blood red overnight. Reports came in from the local media about the red wine like water and it was a great mystery. The water authorities think it is a rare bacteria, but advise residents to not come in contact with the water until the tests are conclusive in a few days.
Most amazing to see in the pictures of the waters turned red and the video below is the Blue Heron who was un-phased by the blood-red water.
